Al started taking guitar lessons before he turned 7 years old, and has been bitten by the music bug ever since. He began writing songs not long after that, and always assumed he would pursue music as a full time profession. Somehow, he lost sight of that and found himself in a corporate career that spanned several decades. Along the way he did manage intermittent bouts of creativity where he wrote and recorded songs and played in various cover bands. With retirement from the business world in sight, and the modern technology available for home recording, he entered a new phase of creativity that has allowed him to bring some of his work to fruition and release it to the public. His music draws on diverse influences that range from Classic Rock, Motown and Blues to Jazz, Country and Americana. At his core, he is a singer-songwriter following his sometimes eclectic muse while paying homage to favorite songwriters like Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, Jason Isbell and many others.
Blessed to have played and collaborated with a number of excellent musicians who have had success in the music industry and even glimpses of greatness, he was inspired and encouraged to put himself out there – he hopes that folks will listen and hear something in his music that resonates with them. At the very least, he hopes he can serve as a reminder that it is never too late to explore your passions and rekindle your dreams.
